 The AN/PVS-30

The PVS-30 is a clip-on device just like the previously mentioned PVS-24/CNVD. Specifically designed for USSOCOM usage, the PVS-30 has seen highly extensive use during the Global War on Terror for the last number of years. Whereas the CNVD-LR from L3Harris was designed around 8x to 12x magnification, the PVS-30 is optimized for 12x to 15x magnification. A grown man can be seen out to 1,000 meters under a quarter moon which is quite impressive.
Utilizing L3Harris tubes, this device offers exceptional clarity, often, almost exclusively even. being used on long range rifles in military service. This can be thought of as a super beefy, overbuilt version of the CNVD-LR that is purely optimized for the LR part of CNVD-LR. Minimum FOM is not stated like how other devices are, but the engineering involved in this device is exceptional and designed to maintain extremely tight tolerances when mounted and unmounted. It is very carefully collimated to mechanically limit POI shift to within 1/2 an MOA maximum shift so the return to zero is incredibly precise, allowing a great deal of trust in the optic. Another point is it is rated up to .50 BMG which allows it to be one of very few NV devices that can be reliably and effectively used on heavy weapons and anti-material rifles without completely destroying the electronics inside.
The overbuilt nature of the PVS-30 comes at both a financial and physical cost. This comes in at 2.9 pounds, which is a pound over the 1.9 pounds of the L3Harris offering. It also costs between $11,725 for the green filmed model, $12,181.96 for the un-filmed white phosphor model, and $14,376.67 for high FOM un-filmed white phosphor model. Significantly more expensive than many other offerings, KAC has always made very expensive equipment. However, the utility of this option over other devices cannot be overstated. The heavier weight shouldn't be a real issue as it is intended for use by snipers which are not the high speed run around types usually. The long range capabilities make this a perfect option for those type of users due to the above average light input from the front lens, making farther away targets be as visible as closer range targets seen through comparable options. Plus, the ability to be safely mounted to .50 BMG arms effectively makes this one of very few options an anti-material rifle or HMG can use, which is great for those users in the military or civilian world.
